This course shall build upon the basic foundations of epidemiological principles and provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in epidemiology, enabling them to have internationally leading expertise that can be applied in public health epidemiology. Areas of this course shall cover include setting up epidemiological research using cohort study, matched case-controlled study and self-controlled case study (SCCS) designs, advanced issues on informing causality including reverse causality and estimating risks of residual confounding and issues in survival studies. The course is prepared to allow students to use this advanced expertise to evaluate epidemiology and design and conduct international quality epidemiology research important to current issues within public health.
