This course will examine the histories, development and concerns of literatures written in English outside the Anglo-American tradition defined in relation to specific geographical areas, national cultures or socio-political movements. The specific areas for study will depend on faculty availability and specialist interest.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO)

CILO-1: Demonstrate a familiarity with English literary writing outside of the Anglo-American tradition. CILO-2: Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the specific area/authors covered in the course. CILO-3: Describe the socio-cultural context of the works covered in the course and how these articulate contemporary concerns involving politics, power, and identity.
