Rules

  1. All current students enrolled in UM degree programs (i.e. bachelor, master and doctoral programs) are eligible for the program. CCE, exchange and deferred students are not eligible.
  2. Only activities without academic credits or monetary compensation are eligible for counting toward the program and receiving CS. SDS has the sole right to decide whether an activity is valid for the program and how many CS will be awarded.
  3. Each activity can only be submitted once and counted toward only one of the COMPETENCY areas of development.
  4. For overnight camp / program, only training hours can be counted for CS, not including time for dining, sleeping and free activity, etc.)
  5. Each activity submission must be accompanied by proof of participation, such as certificates, testimonials, activity photos, , etc. SDS has the sole right to evaluate the validity of the proof and maintains the right to check the authenticity of the proof.
  6. Participants are responsible for the accuracy of the activities submitted. False submission may result in disciplinary or legal actions.
  7. Each activity record must be submitted before the submission deadline, which is announced by SDS every year. Late submission is not accepted.
  8. The CS are accumulated for only one academic year.
  9. If an activity cuts across the end of an academic year and the beginning for another academic year, the activity will be counted toward later year.
  10. Participants are responsible for keeping their contact information up-to-date.
  11. SDS reserves the right to explain and revise the program without prior notice.

Scoring

  • CSs for 2012/2013 are accumulated from 1 Aug 2012 to 31 July 2013.
  • Only activities without academic credits or monetary compensation are eligible for counting toward the program and receiving CS.
  • Each activity can only be submitted once and counted toward only one of the COMPETENCY areas of development.
  • The following table specifies the CS allocation to various activities. If no CS is designated, each 0.5 hour of activity is worth 5 CS in principle. Each activity can apply for up to 400 CS.
